Lost Space
One of the most common reasons we find ourselves need locksmiths is that our keys will be gone. This could mean that either the keys are lost or stolen. Either way, it will rack up unnecessary locksmith bills that you need to get your keys copied or lock your change if you believe that the keys were stolen.
It is important then to look after your keys and ensure that you keep them a safe place both while your key is in your home and when you travel with it (more so the latter in some ways). But it is still very important to fit your keys when you're at home, and it is something which should not be overlooked. Here, well look at some of the ways you can protect your keys in your own home.
At home it is important to have a place where you keep your keys, and usually it will be on a key rack. It is important to do this instead of just placing them on the side that put them at hand leave them susceptible to having things stacked on top of them, such as books and magazines that people stand on the side. It does not happen with a key guard, as they will be on wall. At the same time it may mean that they can easily fall down the side of the cabinet to end up below it. Again, this is not a problem when the keys are hung up trying actually hooked in place, and so unable to move, unless you actually consciously move them. There is no "official" about keeping them on either side, which means that you might unconsciously place, then somewhere else on another occasion. Finally constantly just grow keys down to get them to wear and tear, thus making them more prone to break and even make it harder for locksmiths to make you new copies. This is because when a key is copied, you must have the original unfair good condition for it to be used as a guide when cutting the key. Here your old key will be clamped in place, while the same shape is cut out of an empty key. Should the key be worn, you will then potentially have to have the entire latch replaced by a locksmith rather than just having the individual keys copied.
Of course, if you have lots of keys so you can not fit them all on a rack. If you keep extra keys so there is no real time keeping them in the same place that you keep your originals. Otherwise, if you lose the original, you know you will lose the seat. To spare then some sort of safe or drawers in another room, such as your bedroom is more suitable.
Finally, as a way to keep your keys extra safe, consider getting a remote to your keychain, adjustable from helping you find your keys when they've gone missing.
